Key Skills

KEY SKILLS are the skills which are most commonly needed to succeed in a range of activities - at work, in education and training, and in everyday life.

In developing the key skill of Communication, you will learn to use and adapt your communication and number skills confidently and effectively in a range of settings and contexts.

You will show that you can:

  • take part in a discussion
  • read and obtain information from at least one document
  • write two types of document
  • interpret information from two sources
  • carry out and check calculations
  • interpret the results of your calculations and present your findings
If you have A-C GCSE qualifications within the last three years you may be excused from the key skill requirement otherwise a portfolio and multi-choice test will be required.
