MAPS Customer Care
Advanced Apprenticeship in Customer Service - Programme Overview
Why do I need an Apprenticeship?
The advance apprenticeship provides the opportunity to progress to higher level skills involving improvement of delivery, promoting continuous improvement, processing complaints solving customer's problems and organisation. The qualifications give the framework for your ability to be recognised.
What are the qualifications?
Successful achievement of the Advanced Apprenticeship consists of attaining the NVQ Level 3 in Customer Service, completion of ERR workbook and Key skills in Communication and Application of Number at Level 2 and City and Guilds Certificate in Customer Service Level 3. These qualifications are together called a Framework and have been agreed by The Institute for Customer Service, the Sector Skills Council as appropriate for use.
How much does it cost?
For learners aged 16-18 there is no charge to employer or learner, aged 19 and over there is an expectation that the employer will contribute to the costs. This will be by agreement between the employer and MAPS.
When can I start?
MAPS programmes can be started at any time throughout the year following eligibility checks for learner and employer.
How long does it last?
MAPS expect completion in 18 to 24 months depending on the learner. All learners are treated individually with target completion dates set according to experience and time given to learning.
What will MAPS do for you?
MAPS will undertake a skills scan and create an individual learning plan to assist the learner in developing the required expertise for their job. We provide regular visits to the workplace for assessment and training by fully qualified customer service assessors and certification of qualifications subject to successful completion for NVQ and Key Skills. Technical Certificate will be achieved by attending MAPS centre one day per week. Individual study will be required at home or at work for completion of assignments. MAPS will provide a Institute for Customer Services Apprenticeship Completion Certificate. We also provide support to the onsite supervisors in mentoring learners.
Entry Requirements
It is the norm that apprentices are employed in a business setting. There are no formal academic qualifications required but potential learners will be expected to have the ability to achieve NVQ 3, Technical Certificate and Key Skills.
